NEWS: Irish fundraising agency Ask Direct joins Rogare as an Associate Member

Plymouth University’s fundraising think tank, Rogare, is delighted to announce that Irish fundraising agency Ask Direct has become an Associate Member.

Associate Members are suppliers to the fundraising sector who share Rogare’s ‘Critical Fundraising’ ethos. Associate Members will assist Rogare in identifying areas of research and plan the publications, events and other outputs that will bring this research to the attention of the fundraising practitioner community.

Ask Direct’s founder and MD Damian O’Broin – will join Rogare’s International Advisory Panel of senior and emerging sector thinkers – says:

“We established our Fundraising Summer School in Dublin as a forum for people who want to shape the future of fundraising, not just learn how to do it a bit better. That’s the way Rogare does things, so the synergies are clear and we are delighted to be part of Rogare’s fast-expanding critical fundraising movement.”

One of the first projects Ask Direct will support is the new Critical Fundraising (Ireland) Report. Collated by the Irish members of Rogare’s International Advisory Panel, the report aims to identify the critical issues and challenges facing the fundraising profession in Ireland. It will be launched at Ask Direct’s Summer School in Dublin on 23-24 August this year, where Ian MacQuillin and DTV’s Derek Humphries will also present some ideas from Rogare’s project on the framing of beneficiaries in fundraising materials.

Ian MacQuillin, Rogare’s director, says: “Damian and his team are not the type to accept the status quo in fundraising so I am so pleased they are going to be Rogare stablemates.”

Ask Direct joins Rogare’s other Associate Members, creative agencies Bluefrog and DTV, door-to-door agency HOME Fundraising, regular giving specialist Rapidata, telephone fundraising agency Ethicall, and US fundraising agency Pursuant. Rogare also has a research collaboration with Resource Alliance.
